LANGLADE COUNTY PLAYGROUND
One of my favorite activities to do at River Haven is to relax and lounge around. But there are definately times I want to get out and stretch my legs and get out an enjoy what Langlade County has to offer...which is a LOT. Season after season of activities to fill your day with exciting opportunities. So let's get started with what activities you can enjoy!

RIVER RAFTING
Move over water parks. This river has not stop thrilling fun for all ages. Next door you have Rafting outfitters Herbs Rafts. Down the road is famous Shotgun Eddy. Up the Road is Jays landing. So many different rapids and fun for the whole family!
FISHING
The Wolf River is a wide, boulder-strewn, natural, undeveloped stream with a rapid gradient in many locations.
Fish species inhabiting the Wolf River include brook, brown and rainbow trout, large and smallmouth bass, northern pike, musky, walleye and numerous species of pan fish and forage minnows.

Not a fan of River Fishing? No problem. There is a great trout fishery up the road from River Haven that stocks fish. A great activity for kids of all ages. Fish for fresh dinner. They fillet the fish for you there. Through into the cast iron pan (supplied for you at River Haven) with some butter, onion and lemon and you have a classic up north meal.
HIKING
So many trails! Luckily for you, you can walk out the front door at River Haven and end up on an endless hiking trail along the beautiful Wolf River that goes on for miles and Miles! Boulder Lake National Forests is also a stone's throw away with great trails.
SWIMMING
People often ask if you can swim in the river. Unlike a Lake, which is stagnant, the river is a constantly changing body of water. Swimming in the river depends on rain levels, and other conditions, the river will run faster or slower. It also depends on age and swim skills. So we do not make swimming recommendations one way or the other at River Haven. We can recommend two great beaches nearby. Boulder Lake Campground (very nearby) and White Lake Beach both have great beaches and swim areas if you want to beat the heat.

ATVING
Langlade and Oconto County are FULL of great ATV trails that lead to bars, restaurants and other fun destinations. River Haven is excited to be located on Langlade County's NEWEST ATV trail expansion. Jump out of bed, eat breakfast, and hit the trails!

BIKING
Langlade Area Mountain Biking Association is big in this area, and they have made some incredible mountain biking trails. Visit LAMBA website to check out all the trails close by.
ICE CREAM
There is something magical about vacationing on the Wolf River in a historical log cabin. We can even top that. How about an ice cream truck that makes personal stops in the driveway. Yes, we can make that happen. Nostalgia filled on a hot summer day.
KAYAKING
The Wolf River offers some of the best kayaking there is. Beautiful scenary and some fun rapids. Bring your own kayak or use a local outfitter like Bear Paw. The nice thing is River Haven is the end of the run before the reservation, so a drive up the river and you can get out right back at River Haven!
SKIING
Who loves a little up north skiing!? Luckily for you there are TWO great hills nearby. Paul Bunyan Ski and Tubing Hill in Lakewood and Kettlebowl Downhill and Cross Country Hill. Both offer ski rentals and Chalets for warming up and grabbing a hot chocolate and lunch!
SNOWMOBILING
Langlade is the County of trails and Snowmobile trails are bountyfull around here. Luckily for you, River Haven is located right on the trail! Wake up and hit the trails!
